An AI executive on your leadership team, without a full-time hire

A fractional Chief AI Officer, CPTO or CTO on your leadership team, without a full-time hire. Outcomes agreed in writing and reviewed every quarter.

Someone has to own the AI mandate: the plan, the spend, who is accountable for what, and the first results. If that seat is empty, we fill it with an AI executive who answers for outcomes you agree each quarter. It usually sits alongside an engagement, and sometimes comes before one.

Fractional Chief AI Officer

Owns making your company AI-native: the plan your CEO or board approves, what you spend on AI and what it returns, who is accountable for each decision, and the first critical workflow run by agents.

Fractional CPTO or CTO

Owns making your product AI-native. That means the roadmap, a product surface agents can use, and the first AI-native feature in production.

Advisory

Scheduled strategy sessions each month, with answers between them within 24 hours. It suits teams that want a second view on AI decisions: build, buy or partner, vendors and architecture, AI spend, and board and investor readiness. Advisory can turn into a seat when you're ready.

Outcomes in writing, reviewed quarterly

At the start, we agree a one-page success plan with you, and the seat answers for what's in it:

  1. Mandate. Decision rights, what's in and out of scope, and who the seat reports to.
  2. Outcomes. Three primary and three secondary, each with a baseline and where it's measured.
  3. Checkpoints. Set through the quarter, so nobody waits three months to learn how it's going.
  4. Quarterly review. Renew, expand into an engagement, or hand over to a permanent hire.

Outcomes the seat can own

We start from this list and pick what fits your company.

Fractional Chief AI Officer - An AI plan and mandate approved by your CEO or board - An inventory of your AI tools and contracts, with the waste cut - An AI spend policy - The accountability map in force: who decides what, and what agents may approve - The first critical workflow started and run by agents

Fractional CPTO or CTO - An AI-native product roadmap - An agent-ready product surface live - The first AI-native feature in production, against an adoption target

Either seat - A written mandate for the permanent role, if you want one

We agree your outcomes with you at the start, in a one-page success plan drawn from this list, with checkpoints at 30, 60 and 90 days and a review each quarter.

A seat that answers for the AI bill

The seat owns the spend policy and the accountability map, so it can design for value that grows faster than your AI bill. It also keeps an accountable person behind every decision that matters.

Questions about the seat

Why a fractional seat instead of a full-time hire?

You get executive ownership of AI without a full-time hire. The seat answers for outcomes we agree with you each quarter, and when you're ready to hire for the role, we can write its mandate.

What does it cost?

Talk to us. We scope the work with you during the working session, which is credited in full against your engagement. Prices are set in the working session.

Are we too small for this?

No. We work with solo founders as well as large teams.

Find out which seat fits

In a working session we look at where you are on the path and talk through which seat fits. If you choose a seat, the session doubles as its starting assessment: we agree the mandate and outcomes from what we learned there.

When you book, choose "We need someone to own AI on our leadership team first", and we'll shape the session around the seat.
